002 · How a link holds

Two ways to hang a coin.

The launch window picks the link for you. Which one you get depends on how deep the parent already sits.

Pair link

Quoted in the parent.

pump.fun prices your coin in its parent. Every buy routes SOL into the parent first, so your volume is the parent's volume. Fees arrive in the parent and the keeper burns them as they are.

Fee link

Quoted in SOL, burns upward.

Past pump.fun's depth cap the coin trades against SOL. Its fees collect in SOL, the keeper buys the parent down its own chain, and burns it. Under a fee link, pair links start again.

The burn

No payout, ever.

No one is paid the creator fee. Each coin's creator is a key the keeper holds for that coin alone, so fees can be traced coin by coin, and they only ever leave as a burn.

004 · FAQ

Asked, answered.

What is a pair link?+

Your coin is quoted in its parent on pump.fun, the way most coins are quoted in SOL. Anyone buying it buys the parent first, in the same transaction, and its creator fees arrive in the parent.

What is a fee link?+

pump.fun only lets a pair sit so many levels deep. Past that, your coin is quoted in SOL, and its creator fees buy the parent down its own chain before they are burned. Same burn, one more swap.

Where do the creator fees go?+

Every Chainpad coin's pump.fun creator is a key only the keeper signs with. The keeper sweeps the fees, swaps them into the parent when they arrive in SOL, and burns the parent. Nothing is paid out to anyone.

What does a launch cost?+

A 0.005 SOL link fee, which pays the keeper's gas and indexes your coin, plus the account rent pump.fun charges for any new coin. The launch window shows the exact total before you sign.

Do I need PUMP to buy a coin under PUMP?+

No. You pay in SOL. The route buys PUMP through Jupiter and climbs down the chain on pump.fun. When that is too big for one transaction, your wallet signs a second one that spends exactly the PUMP the first one bought.

Can I start a chain under any coin?+

Any pump.fun coin, or any token pump.fun lists as a pair (PUMP, USDC and its stock tokens). Paste the address in the launch window. Other tokens work as fee links if Jupiter can route to them.

How do I sell?+

On pump.fun, like any other coin there. A sale pays out in the coin's own pair, so a coin under PUMP sells for PUMP.

What can go wrong?+

These are memecoins: they can go to zero. A sale cascades up the chain the same way a buy does. A thin coin in the middle of a chain makes every coin below it expensive to buy. And the burn depends on the keeper running.
